President Trump and Chinese President Xi are set to meet in South Korea.

SEOUL — U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping are scheduled to hold a high-level meeting in South Korea later this week, according to officials from both governments. The meeting comes amid ongoing discussions over trade, regional security, and the situation on the Korean Peninsula.

Sources say the two leaders will discuss key global issues, including economic cooperation, North Korea’s nuclear program, and the stability of supply chains in Asia. Analysts view the meeting as a crucial opportunity for both sides to ease tensions and strengthen diplomatic ties following months of strategic competition.

“This meeting reflects the importance of continued dialogue between the United States and China,” a senior South Korean official said. As a regional partner, South Korea will play an important role in facilitating constructive talks.

The summit is expected to take place in Seoul, where President Trump will also meet with South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol. Discussions are anticipated to cover trilateral cooperation and security measures in the Indo-Pacific region.

Observers say the Trump–Xi meeting could mark a turning point in U.S.–China relations, depending on the outcomes of the negotiations and the tone of the discussions.
